Christenings

St Margaret’s Church is a beautiful church in which to hold your Christening

St Margaret’s is a beautiful Church in which to hold a Christening.

You may be Christened at any age – its never too early or too late.
If the person being Christened is a baby, child or young person under 16 then he or she will need to have Godparents – normally the minimum is three, (two of the same sex as your child, and one of the other sex). You may have as many as six Godparents and all Godparents need to have been Christened themselves.

Number of guests

St Margaret’s Church can hold a maximum of 90 people, which includes the Vicar and verger, organist and any other musicians, photographer, etc.

90 people includes both adults and children. Dogs are also very welcome.

The Vicar

All christenings will be conducted by the Vicar of St Margaret’s Church, in their absence another Church of England priest, or a priest of a church in full Communion with the Church of England.

In the first instance, please get in touch with our Ceremonies Officer, Becky Kingston-Wood on stmargaretschuchbabington@gmail.com. Becky will be happy to advise you further.
